Grapes – small fruit – big benefits
The fruits that look like marbles and are loaded with a sweet gel-like pulp are big on health benefits. Grapes can be eaten as fruits, or in the form of juice, ice cream, jam, jellies, etc. They are not just yummy, but also good for you in several ways.
* Good for the eyes: You might not have known this, but grapes prevent cataract, as they are rich in antioxidants
* Against bacteria: Red grapes are having powerful antiviral and antibacterial properties. They can protect you from many infections. They especially guard you against herpes simplex virus and poliovirus.
* Protection from macular degeneration: Grapes are good for old people as they protect their eyesight from macular degeneration or loss of vision. To protect yourself from macular degeneration, make sure you take three portions of grapes everyday to reduce the risk by about 36 %.
* Anticancer properties: Grapes have powerful anticancer qualities due to the resveratrol present in them. Grapes are especially helpful in breast cancer and colorectal cancer. They inhibit the growth of cancer cells. They do not just stop the cancer risk but also restrain the growth of cancer cells.
* Antioxidant powers: Grapes contain antioxidants that help improve your immune system. This makes your body stronger and you are more resistant to small diseases like cold, cough, flu and seasonal fever.
* Helpful for asthma patients: Grapes are high in moisture content and they are able to accumulate water, so they increase the moisture in lungs, thereby relieving patients from asthma.
